Guesthouse Solbacka Iittala
The log-built main house of Iittala's Solbacka farm was completed in 1907. The main building was built as the official residence and home of cabin master Gustaf Alfred Hultgren. The financier was Iittala glassworks, which desperately wanted mr. Hultgren as an employee. The cabin masters were and still are respected master glassblowers.
The farm's Guest House Guesthouse Solbacka Iittala was completed in 1973. For decades, the glass factory had already attracted a lot of corporate guests, and that's why the factory decided to build a guest sauna with representative fireplace rooms on the Solbacka farm it owned. Architect Juhani Kivikoski, later one of the managers of the glass factory, was responsible for the design.
Guesthouse Solbacka, located in the courtyard of our home, was taken over for accommodation in February 2020. We renovated the guest apartment with sauna and fireplace rooms while respecting the old, and renovated the current quiet bedroom in autumn 2019.
Welcome to Guesthouse Solbacka. We are located in the village of Iittala, next to the glass factory. Guesthouse can accommodate 6 persons per booking.
Guesthouse is super easily accessable with public transport as the local train is only about 200m away from the accommodation. All local R-trains from Helsinki, Tampere and Hämeenlinna will stop in Iittala.
