The city is located along the main routes and roads in Finland – national road 3 and the main rail line in particular. Hämeenlinna is only an hour away from the biggest cities in Finland: Helsinki (capital), Tampere, Lahti and Turku. Also airports in Helsinki, Turku and Tampere are an hour away.
A nurtured and cherished national landscape and rural areas have made the city a summer destination for holidaymakers – there are over 7,000 holiday homes in Hämeenlinna.
